Training requirement for the processing of PU products
New legal requirement for diisocyanates
The REACH Regulation stipulates a training requirement for all products containing more than 0.1% diisocyanates. Diisocyanates are contained in our PU adhesives and special sealants, primers, and sealants. They react during application but are no longer detectable after curing.
What you need to know:
- As a processor:Anyone who processes products containing diisocyanates must complete training by August 24, 2023. Proof of completion is provided by a certificate of attendance, including a successfully completed final exam. The certificate is valid for five years. The training must then be repeated.
- As a company:Employees in your company must be given the opportunity to participate in the training. Only then may they continue to process products containing diisocyanates.
- As a specialist retailer:You must pass on the information about the affected products to your customers, but you do not need to undergo training yourself.
